Philosophy Finds at BIG LOTS!

It's Thursday! As Joey reminds me every week :) Very excited for the weekend to be here... hopefully going to get some beach time in! What are your plans for the weekend?
So I have been meaning to post this blog post for a while now and I just got busy with getting ready for NY, then being in NY, and nooooowwww that I'm home from NY I can finally make this post. (was that long enough for you)...
Joey and I recently went to Big Lots to look around and also I had heard about them having a name brand beauty product so of course I had to go look. I had never been in a Big Lots before...verrrry interesting?
BUUUTT they had Philosophy products for $3 a pop!
Look how cute! These products usually retail from about $10-$30 so I couldn't believe the price on them! The larger compact is shimmering face powder.
This is really pretty! I wouldn't put it all over my face as a finish though. It has too much shimmer in it (hence the name). This product I have actually used over my cream blushes to matte-ify them and give them some extra pop. That is really it for this. You could probably also use this as a highlight if you wanted as well!

The middle sized compact (the black one) is a cream blush called lit from within.
This is a very light blush and I tend to gravitate towards a heavy pigmented blush... but the formula is really nice. It has more of a shimmer to it so it is not as matte as it looks here in the photo.
I prefer my NYX cream blushes much more than this but for $3 this was a nice snag for a day when I don't want much color.

The smallest compact is an angel kiss lip gloss.
As you can tell I have used this a lot! I love it! It is so pretty! It has a beautiful pigment to it and the forumla is really nice on the lips. Not sticky at all!

Well I just wanted to share those finds! I know that when the product is gone in Big Lots it's gone for good! But the product was still good, not expired (you need to be careful of that) and I really like 2 of the 3 products :)

June Faves!

Helllo! Boy does it feel good to get back into my routine in the mornings!  I can't believe it is already the end of June! I wanted to get my June Faves blog post up toward the beginning of the week because I have some other fun posts planned for this week and also the next, so I am a bit early buuuuttt ooo well...
Before I share my June favorites I just have to say that it has been very rainy and gloomy here with Debby at the doorstep :(
I don't think you can tell from this picture but it is raining pretty hard, along with some VERY high winds.

Okkkkay. To jump right in I have 5 favorites this month and some of you may have seen a few of the items here in previous blog posts this month.
First Favorite
Dead Sea Minerals Anti Aging Day Cream
I use this right when I get out of the shower in the morning and I have really noticed changes to my face. It says Anti Aging but that is not why I use this (although if it helps with the aging process on my face I wouldn't mind); I use this as a replacement to a moisturizer. It really hydrates my skin after a hot shower (which many moisturizers do) but the things about this is it keeps my oily skin at bay. Even better than my Clinique Hydra Gel. This is where I have noticed the best difference with my skin. My T-Zone which can get pretty oily throughout the day has been really under control which in turn allows my makeup to work better all day long. My face really feels like it has had a pick-me-up when I apply this and it leaves me feeling refreshed and ready to start my day.
Second Favorite
 Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque
I mentioned this in my switching things up blog post and I have to mention it again because it deserves that much more praise! I love this mask! I won't repeat everything I sad about it... you can go check it out on the other post but this mask is my NEW favorite product of all time. Smells amazing and feels so luxurious on your skin!
Third Favorite
Red Skinny Jeans
So I guess I shouldn't just say Red Skinny Jeans but really more like ANY colored skinny jean that is summer themed! I love these pants! They are so comfortable! I got this pair at TJmaxx and the brand is called V.I.P? I have never heard of this brand before but they fit great and pair well with much of my wardrobe :) Next stop...HOT PINK SKINNY JEANS!
I couldn't find these jeans again :( But I did find comparable ones by 7 for all mankind which is great quality!
Fourth Favorite
NYX Single Eyeshadow in ES11 Iced Mocha
So as you all know I love NYX single eyeshadow and I came across this Iced Mocha color the last time I was at Ulta. I have loved using this to create tons of different eye looks this summer. It really works great to tone down bright colors or tone up a smokey eye. NYX has some of the best quality eye shadows in my opinion; however sometimes there can be more fallout with some than others.
Fifth/Final Favorite
Hershey Chocolate Flavored Twizzlers
This should come at no surprise to those of you who read my blog...I have to mention food :) I have talked about these Twizzlers before and I just have to bring it up again because I have had like 6 packages of these Twizzlers in this month alone...BEST EVER! Getting a bit sick of them so I am going to go back to the original flavor for awhile...but no worries I will eat these again, and again, and again!

Well that wraps up my June Favorites! I can't believe another month has come and gone! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. Let me know what some of your June/Summer favorites are in the comments below or send me an email at the contact information above!

Happy Tuesday!

New York Adventures: Part 2

FINALLY! Back to Florida!!! Although we had to hit the tropical storm Debby along the way...WE MADE IT! Rebel was so happy to get out of the car and so were Joey and I. We are both very tired so I doubt this will be a very long post, but I wanted to catch up with y'all!

The second half of our trip was very successful! Got some more wedding things under way and we had some amazing time with family and friends! We were mostly busy with wedding things all the way through the week until Saturday which was my grandmother's 80th birthday celebration. Buuuuuttt even though I had many weddings things to do I was able to hang out with some friends. We did pizza and wing night any my house (courtesy of my parents) and then we made our way to Applebees for round TWO!
Pina Colada...YUUUUMMMM!
Apple Pie with a side Chocolate Mousse Shooter (can you tell it had been a long week?)

We helped my parents get ready for my Grandma's party which turned out to be a GREAT success! My aunt was up from Texas and my uncle was up from Florida!!! It is always great to bring the WHOLE family together! I can't believe how big some of my cousins have gotten!
Getting ready and setting the food out :)
We took some family photos! How cute!!!!
My sister and her boyfriend with Joey and I!
Daddy and his girls :)
Joey was caught eating the cookies while we were cleaning up from the party!
What a great time we had...can't wait to see my family again...

So we started out track back home to Florida yesterday morning around 9 a.m.! That called for some major energy!
I normally don't drink these things but I needed a good start to my day! We were trying hard to beat some of the storm Debbie and make it to Florida in one piece!
Rebel always has a fun time on road trips :) He has little area in the back of the CR-Z that is his but he is always trying to make his way toward the front.
He later crashes in several places throughout the car...

Wellllll I'm sooo tired I don't think I could type anymore :( Off to get some rest and I will be back to the routine tomorrow!

Have a GREAT rest of your Monday!

New York Adventures: Part 1

Heeellllllooooo! From up North :) We made it to New York on Sunday morning earlier than expected just in time for Father's Day!!! I started out the drive with my coffee and I was ready to go...
The drive was beautiful! Love the New York senery.
Here are some pictures from the drive :))))

We were able to make breakfast for my Dad and have a fun day with the puppies. Oliver (my sister's dog) and Rebel get along really well and play like they have been best friends forever (yeeeeaaaaa doggie BFFs).

Monday we were able to go to Niagara Falls! This was Joey's first time there! He loved it! I think that I take it for granteed becuase I have lived in New York all my life pretty much have been there twice a year every year (give or take a few). My parents packed a picnic lunch and treated us to the Maid of the Mist and also the Cave of the Winds Tour. Soooo nice of them :)
The Cave of the Winds (here above) was insane! We are on the Hurricane Deck which because the wind and mist drops are so intense that it simulates a real hurricane! Joey and I were prepping for hurricane season in Florida :)))
That was pretty much our day on Monday! Didn't get back home untill very late so we were tired. Rebel had lots of fun while we were gone with Oliver (those twoooo sillllliessss). Joey and I had to be up early on Tuesday to go do some wedding things. We picked out our table runners and some other pieces for the reception at our rental place. After that we went to Kohl's and put together our wedding reigistry. I really am not a fan of this! I don't know why...but when we registered at Williams and Sonoma I didn't have much fun either (maybe it's because I can take any of the items home with me).
OOTD PICTURE!!!! (Whoooottttt red skinnies)
Joey and I went to Nick  Tahos after for lunch and Joey tried his first garbage plate! (which is a Rochester thing...two cheeseburgers on top of french fries and macoroni salad all mixed together with hot meat sauce and onion on top)....YUUUUUMMMMMMY!!!
Many more adventures to come :) Going shopping with my bridesmaids today
(except one :(((( boooo) which will be fun to look at some dresses!

Look out for more New York Adventures to come!!!!
