Master Bedroom Re-Do {Thoughts & Ideas}

So my master bedroom redecorating is officially underway! Well...technically I have only created a Pinterest board for my ideas, but that still counts right?

We aren't going all out because our master bedroom is actually in great shape. I just want to redecorate and brighten up the place. We have nice bedroom furniture that doesn't need to be replaced (so right there that saves us a ton). But our WHOLE house is the same color! It's all a beige.
Now before I go any further, I must say...I like beige...I'm a neutral color kinda gal. But the beige with the dark drown furniture that ALL matches (BTW) is a bit drabbbbb for me.

I want some color! Maybe it is just David Brombstad influencing my color splash needs (ten points if you figured out that is the name of his show) or the endless amount of brown and black in my closet and bedroom. Nonetheless, I'm in search of some color!

First step is paint for the walls! I am torn between a few different directions so this is where YOU as a wonderful reader of mine, get to chime in.  Now lets be honest, I have the final say here...but seriously there are so many talented designer type people in this world and I would love to know the thoughts of EVERY SINGLE ONE. Now if I could only get the Property Brothers to read my blog post.

So why am I blogging about this? Because this is what I do. I blog, vlog, create YouTube videos and ultimately post my entire life online (but seriously...). I want to document this project. And while I will most likely take the time and film pieces of this project in a project vlog...I love my blog (with a B). Writing down my thoughts is almost therapeutic and let's be honest we all need some therapy. (Sorry to the Ms. Perfect reading this blog post)

So the first decision in my book (like I I go repeating myself) is the wall color. I have several options that I like and I figure I would post them here. Get your thoughts. I went to Lowe's to glance at some paint swatches. I really like that they have the different light colors you can put the swatch under. This way you can actually see how the paint will look in your home with the lighting you have.
I picked these up.

I am torn between going with a light blue or a light yellow. I CAN'T DECIDE!
I partially want blue because I want to feel peace and calmness in my bedroom. This would help when we have kids right? But then...the other part of me wants a nice soft yellow. Not too harsh that it screams "HELLO YELLOWWWW!", but soft enough that I wake up and I'm excited to start the day.
For the blues here, I'm leaning toward the Blue Mist and in the yellow bunch I'm leaning toward the Like Butter and Summer Wish.

I will tape them up next to my side of the bed and think on it awhile. Hmmmmm...

Until the next post!

New Office Decor Updates!

I'm so excited about my new office decor! I just have to say that it turned out mostly how I wanted it and I couldn't be happier to have some cute looking decor in my office. Overall it gives off a great vibe :) Once again, I have a video up on my YouTube channel and I have also linked it below if you would like to watch it here.

I really was inspired by Pinterest for some of this office change up and I will let you know what came from there while posting pictures.

I loved this idea on Pinterest about hanging some fashion or decor magazines on some wire hangers. Just attached them to the wall :)  I also kept this mini project budget friendly buy purchasing some different frames from the Dollar Tree. Then just took some white paint to them.
I decided to print off a small 5x7 YouTube insert for one frame. If you subscribe to me on YouTube you know that my channel has been growing and has become such a fun hobby for me :) I also designed and printed off this mini 8x11 "Do more of what makes you happy" poster. This was also inspired from Pinterest.

I also added this tray from Target.  I liked the idea of keeping all my "on the desk" items together here.
This clear organizer works much better than the little mint green catchall bin I had here before. I replaced my pencil holder with a reused clear Bath and Body Works candle.
I think this is my favorite part of the office decor! I love this little jar I picked up from Marshalls! It is so cute and it fits all my Washi tape perfectly (with a little room to grow).
Lastly, this hand  soap pump came from Target as well and I actually filled this with lotion. I like to keep a hand cream around when I'm working during the day so this is perfect for that. Plus is goes with the theme :)

Make sure you watch my YouTube Video!

So happy with the way my office turned out. I love not having to stare at a blank wall anymore!

Antique Entryway Light Project!

I'm so excited that my new entryway light is finally up! If you follow me on my YouTube channel you may know that I found this old antique lantern light at my local Antique Mall and it has been sitting in our dining room for farrrr tooo long!

My parents have been in town and my Dad decided to go ahead and help my husband tackle the project. It actually turned out to be a serious project. They had to replace all the electrical components in the light, the wiring, and other odds and ends that (to be honest) I don't really even understand.

I took a few pictures of the light when it was down on the floor along with some of the parts they purchased to give it a face-lift. But the most important part of it all is a got exactly what I was looking for, for $25 re-purposing an old antique hang light :)

Here is the light we had to take down! So glad this thing is gone!
Then these were some of the parts we had to work on. Additionally, here are the parts we picked up!

And there it is! I am loving this light in our entryway! Of course now the 80's style doorbell is EVEN MORE apparent in the background. We will have to change that!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend :)
